Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She founded The Huffington Post and the chief executive officer of Thrive Global. Author of over 15 books. Arianna Huffington has been a journalist, TV personality writer, philanthropist, and philanthropist for more than 10 years. Her role also includes being the owner of The Huffington Post, an independent, liberal online newsmagazine. Following her move from Greece to England from Greece at the age of 16 She earned an MA with a major in Economics from Cambridge University. In her 21st year, she was president of the renowned debate club The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign born student who was elected to this position. A conservative syndicated blogger following her graduation, she went on to become the voice of Huffington Post. Her celebrity status helped her to get a number of prominent contributors to publish their thoughts on politics news and culture. Arianna's popularity began in 2003, when she was a candidate for an independent in the California recall election to succeed then-Governor Davis. Additionally, she was involved in an initiative in Detroit that promoted efficient vehicles that use less fuel. Forbes listed her the most powerful female in the media industry in the year 2009. Her ranking was at 12th place on their listing. The Guardian also included her on the list of top 100 media outlets in the year 2009. AOL Inc. made her the President of their media division in 2011 after they purchased The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post was joined by the other AOL brands such as Engadget AOLmusic Style list or Patch Media. Elli was the daughter of Konstantinos, a journalist and management consultant. She was extremely close to her father. But it was her relationship with her mother which has shaped her. Even as a young girl she demonstrated leadership skills which she is still renowned for. In the year she turned sixteen, she left the United States to the United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. During her college days she joined the college debating Society Cambridge Union where she became the first foreign president and was also the third female president. She graduated in 1972 with the degree of Master's in Economics. In the years following after graduation she became a critic columnist and television host. Alongside Bernard Levin she appeared on the show Face the music.
